Thank You Day

Create a Piece of the Giant National Thank You Card!

Every school in the UK is invited to help create a national thank you card for Thank You Day. Artist and author Charlie Mackesy has designed the cover, and each class in every school will sign the inside with those they want to thank.

How to take part:

Getting your school involved is really simple. Follow the steps below or download the guide, which includes extra resources such as an assembly to introduce your pupils to Thank You Day.

Ask each class in your school to create an A3 poster, which will become a piece of the Giant Thank You card. Decorate it and ask your class to fill it with the people in their lives that they want to thank for supporting them and their loved ones over the last year. Teachers and support staff are also welcome to add their thanks! Think creatively too – using drawings and photos to show thanks.

  • Either scan, or use a camera or smartphone to capture your Thank You card poster.
  • Submit your images as a .jpg by email:
    • Send to: Merci@marks-and-spencer.com
    • Make the subject of the email your School name – School Location.
    • Example: St Antony’s Catholic Primary School – West Ham
    • Alternatively, if you have a Google account you can submit images through this form.

SUBMIT by 23rd June at Midday to be included in the card at Wimbledon. Submissions welcome after this also.

Data submitted through this form will be processed by Marks and Spencer and Freuds Bazaar.

The images will be digitally collated, and printed to create the national Thank You Card alongside Charlie’s image.

In the week before Thank You Day (w/c 28th June), laminate your Thank You Card posters and hang them on your school gates or somewhere visible so that passers by can see your great work and how thankful the school is to the community!
